Vehicles in German Town Found Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Authorities mentioned they were contacted by a individual who noticed a automobile in Hanau smeared with reddish fluid

Approximately 50 automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be blood from a person in the German city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Automobiles, walls and mailboxes were vandalized, occasionally with swastikas, they reported in a official communication.

Police say they were notified during the night on Wednesday night, when a individual observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued substance.

The liquid had been placed in the pattern of a swastika, they added.

Law enforcement then located numerous other marked cars and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

These symbols are illegal in Germany under legislation outlawing the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.

Police report preliminary tests suggest the fluid was likely human blood.

"There is still no clue as to its origin; authorities are presently not informed of any harm in connection with the event," they added.

City officials announced they were trying "to unravel the mystery" and have requested to the public for tips.

A senior representative said the attack rendered him stunned and needed to be solved promptly.

"This incident strikes at the center of Hanau and reopens the pain of the extremist terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on social media, mentioning the murder of nine victims by a shooter focusing on residents of immigrant origin in five years prior.
